Galileo Galilei (1564-1642)
An italian Astronomer and physicist, was remember fo great important things for astronomy.
Early in his life he was taught by monks at Vallombrosa, after he went to the universe of Pisa in 1581 to study medicine. He started to learn to learn philosophy and mathematics and left without a degree.
He started to think about theories and Aristotle's theories. The same Year he was appointed to the chair of Mathematics in the university of Padua, which he remained until 1610. In Padua he invented a "Calculating Compass" for solving Mathematics problems. In 1609 he was inspired to built the first telescope. By December of the same year he built another telescope that was 20 times stronger.
Galileo Discouvered the craters on the moon, the stars in the milky way, and the four moons of jupiter. He wrote books of Astronomy, in 1613 published a book about sunspots, 1624 published a book on the Tides.
